*****Big Heads Up before I start naming names. I might anyway. You know who you are. Many of those know the deal with permit acces. And we all have a responsibility to share the crag requirements and educate.
Please share this.
12 people were at Misty Cliffs this weekend on one day. no-one had permits.
The deal is this: Misty cliffs was closed for decades with land owner not interested. Jono Cohen then negotiated access under strict conditions. 1. Online indemnity to be signed each time we go. 2. R50 permit. Every year Jono prepays from his own cash r12k for the use rights for all climbers for the year. Then he recoups a bit of this from the permits. Not to mention all the own costs for the glue in bolts etc.
A. If the landowner checks permits - we can lose this again. B. It’s just not cool to be kak like this.
Payment
Please note that you can pay your permit fee of R50 per person per day by an EFT to the following bank account:
Absa Bank

Acct No. 409 697 8112

Re: Scarborough Access Alert
Yes! C-mon guys, there was a lot of kak and some skillful (and EXPENSIVE) negotiation that went into regaining access to this crag. Don't be tight - chip in!
